An Auditory Tour (Win/95/98/ME and Win/NT/2000/XP version)
The file AUDITORY.ZIP (20 MB) contains the "Auditory Tour" package
developed by John Brugge and group. You should download this file in
binary mode, then unzip it. If you are using a web browser, download by
clicking on the file name below, and select the "Save File" or
"Save to Disk" option.
(The Auditory Tour (for Windows) is now also available in 5 smaller
chunks for those who have trouble downloading one large file due
to slow links etc.Click here for details.)
You will need an UnZip program to extract and de-compress the
files once the archive file (auditory.zip) has been downloaded to
your disk. Most unzip programs will do the job. A popular one for
Windows is WINZIP, which you can get by visiting their web site at:
http://www.winzip.com/
If you prefer, you can get pkunzip for DOS by clicking on the
file name "pkunzip.exe" below.
Files in this directory:
AUDITORY.ZIP(Auditory Tour, 20 MB)
PKUNZIP.EXE(PKunzip for DOS)
The Auditory Tour (for Windows) is now also available in 5 smaller
chunks for those who have trouble downloading one large file due
to slow links etc.Click here for details.
How to Unzip:
(a) Download the auditory.exe file to an empty sub-directory on your
hard disk (e.g. C:\AUD).
(b) If necessary, also download pkunzip.exe to the same directory.
(c) If using Windows-95 or Windows/NT, open a "DOS Command prompt"
window, and change default to the new sub-directory that contains
these files:
C:> cd \aud
C:\aud>
(d) Unzip as follows:
> pkunzip -d auditory.zip
Note: The "-d" option is very important, it recreates the original
directory structure. If you are unzipping with WINZIP, then
make sure that the box "Use Folder names" is checked.
(e) The unzip process will create four new sub-folders, named "Anime",
"Audiogrm", "Anatomy" and "Quiz". It will place two files in
the main folder (c:\aud, e.g.).
Start the Auditory Tour by double-clicking on the file "auditory.exe"
which is created by the unzip process.
Once the tour has been tested, you can delete the "auditory.zip" file.
System requirements: PC with Windows/95 or higher or Win/NT or higher. Sound board
with speakers to listen to sounds. 60 MB free disc space.
A Macintosh version is available at:

After unzipping, run the auditory.exe file.
