Configure First Class in Netscape

In order to launch FirstClass from browser, there are web server side and client-end configurations need to do. As a client-end user, you only need to configure your browser. Further information on server-end configuration, please check official FirstClass page at DoIT.

Configuration procedure for Netscape 2.01 for windows is shown below. You should see almost the same images show on your screen if you are using PC/MS-Windows 3.1. If you are a Macintosh user, the outlook differs from PC/Windows slightly.

Configuration Steps

Stpe 1. Select "General Preferences..." from the Options menu in Netscape.

Step 2. Select "Helper" from the top bar.

Step 3 ~ Step 8. Do the steps in the following graph. Click to see what you can expect after you finish the configuration procedure.

Step 9. Select "Save Options" from Options menu to save the changes. See the image below step 1.

For a Macintosh users, the following image show the finished configuration of Netscape 1.x. The outlook of Netscape 2.x looks different from this, but you will get the idea immediately when you see one from Netscape 2.x. The steps are the same with those for PC/Windows. However, the file name of FirstClass is different from the one on the image. If you get a copy from DoIT, the file name of FirstClass might call "Mt. Parnassus". You need to browse and select FirstClass client first, then the options in file type shows up. You must select "FCsf".

NOTE: Macintosh users might need to reconfigure again in order to work properly.
